Free RAW Photo: Golden Gate Traffic

I took the featured photo around 10 years ago during my first visit to San Francisco. I was shooting with a Canon 60D and my travel lens, Sigma 17-70mm.

Exif Data:

  • Camera: Canon 60D
  • Lens: Sigma 17-70mm
  • Aperture: f/8
  • Shutter Speed: 1/60s
  • ISO: 100
  • Focal length: 17mm

I believe it will be an exciting challenge to edit the featured RAW image.

The original free RAW photo is slightly underexposed, has no contrast, is noisy, and the barrel distortion produced by Sigma 17-70mm at the wide end is prominent. But everything can be easily fixed in Lightroom.

My RAW Editing Version

And here is my editing version of the free RAW image. You can access all my editing steps from the Snapshot Panel of the Develop module in Lightroom.

My main goal was to emphasize the red color of the Golden Gate Bridge. I did it by desaturation the blue colors of the sky and green colors of the water. Plus, I increased the saturation of the reds and yellows.

I also changed the aspect ratio from 3:2 to 16:9.
