After visiting Prince Edward Island for so many years, it was my first time I stopped at Wood Islands.
Before the Confederation Bridge was built, which connects Prince Edward Island with the rest of Canada, the Wood Islands was the busiest and most visited spot on the island. This is where Northumberland Ferries connect Prince Edward Island with Nova Scotia.
Even though the ferry is still operational, the Confederation Bridge is the main transportation link between the island and the mainland.
Prince Edward Island is the smallest province in Canada but hosts 63 lighthouses along its shore. The Wood Islands Lighthouse is one of the oldest one in PEI.
