After visiting Prince Edward Island on many occasions in the last 10 years It was the first time I got to drive along the Eastern Shore of the island.
It looked different and unique compared to other parts of PEI. It has a high shore with a view on Nova Scotia across the Northumberland Strait and the endless farm fields.
It was a pure driving photo trip experience. I was driving without any specific places to visit just trying to spot something interesting and beautiful. When I spotted this view I just stopped the car and took a couple of shots from the side of the road.

Shooting & Processing
I took 3 bracketed shots on a tripod (-1, 0, +1) as I usually do.
I used single RAW image editing in Lightroom. I described the process in Lightroom Rapid Editing System for Landscapes.
But this time I introduced the editing twist to Rapid Editing.
First I applied Lightroom preset Drought from my Landscape Collection with the following Lightroom Preset Editing Formula: Drought (1, 8, 30 ).
Deconstructing Featured Photo
- Camera: Sony a6000
- Lens: Sony 10-18mm
- Focal Length: 10mm
- ISO: 100
- Aperture: F9
- Shutter: 1/250
- Bracketing: 3 shots (-1, 0, +1 )
- Tripod: FEISOL Tournament CT-3442 Â
Processing:
Lightroom: import, tagging, preset based processing
Photoshop: color correction, contrast, cleaning.
Photoshop Plugins:
- Topaz DeNoise was used to reduce digital noise (sky).
- Topaz Clarity was used to enhance details and boost colors (fields).
Beautiful landscape. After studying each shot, I’m assuming you were trying to combine the greener grass toward the front with the more yellow field. The Drought preset brought out the golden yellow of the field and the
Point Lobos brought out the green of the color in the foreground.
you are absolutely right, I combined the effects of 2 different plugins. Sometimes I even go for 3.
