The city of Kanab is the strategic location when visiting the Southwest. It is positioned in the driving distance from the most beautiful spots of the region. You stay in Kanab and plan your day trips to Zion, Bryce, North Rim of Grand Canyon, Navajo Bridge, Lake Powell, The Wave canyon. Plus, hundreds of less known spots. While staying in Kanab you visit lots of canyons and mountains areas.
What you do not expect to see there are dunes. The Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is a well-hidden spot off radars of the most tourists. I found it by accident and could not believe my eyes when I saw a big dune park surrounded by mountains and canyons.
The park has a well-maintained campground and it is a popular spot for dune sandboarding.
