Sunrise at Cap-Bon-Ami in Forillon National Park (Quebec)

Last Updated on

This photo is from my latest trip to Eastern Quebec. I spent 3 days in one of my favorite travel photography destinations in Canada – Forillon National Park. It is located at the eastern tip of the Gaspé Peninsula where the Gulf of Saint Lawrence flows into the Atlantic Ocean.

The weather was not particularly favorable for landscape photography with hot humid air and no clouds for the duration of my trip.  The only time I could get favorable light was during sunset hours.

The featured shot is from Cap-Bon-Ami beach, which is located in the North Sector of the park. I strategically placed the Cap-des-Rosiers lighthouse to be the secondary focal point of the composition.

I used HDR processing to bring out details in the foreground textures of the cliff.
