There is no story behind this photo. I was just lucky to be able to capture such a vivid and unusual colors. The sunset was not spectacular at all but after the sun completely disappeared below the horizon the illumination changed I was glad I decided to stick around longer than I expected.
Initially, I took 5 bracketed shots but only used 4 in post processing, the +2 photo was too bright (overexposed). I used HDR processing in Photomatix to tone mapped image. (check my free HDR Tutorials)

Photomatix: 4 exposures ( -2, -1, 0, +1) were used to tone map image, 16-bit tiff image was exported to Lightroom (Tutorial: Complete HDR Workflow).
Lightroom: color correction, export as PSD image
Photoshop: cleaning, removing the fence, cropping.
